Many newsworthy issues developed over the past week. Below is a sample of those that Jim presented to listeners on this edition of the 'Round-Up':

--A call to prayer for those in the path of hurricane 'Harvey' came from Dr. E.

Calvin Beisner of the Cornwall Alliance for the Stewardship of Creation. The

storm is likely to be life-threatening and to cause severe damage to property

throughout Eastern Texas and into Louisiana.

--President Trump has been advised regarding hurricane 'Harvey'. Advisors are

reassuring Americans that the administration is prepared.

--President Trump instructing the Pentagon to stop admitting transgender

individuals into the military.

--The Washington Free Beacon has reported that the average transgender soldier

will spend 238 days (65% of one year) recovering from sex change surgeries,

making them unavailable to deploy.

--President Trump signs historic bill for veterans. It's called the Veterans

Appeals Improvement and Modernization Act.

--The pace of new government regulations has plunged under President Trump.

--Trump's administration officials have just disbanded a major climate change

advisory board.

--Americans for Limited Government praises the Trump administration and Attorney

General Jeff Sessions for putting an end to 'Operation Choke Point'. That's an

Obama administration initiative to choke off politically disfavored industries

like firearm manufacturers and pay-day lenders.

--The chief executive of a Pennsylvania-based coal corporation said that the

company is opening a second coal mine since President Trump took office and

declares that the war on coal is over.

--Korean electronics manufacturer LG announced plans to build a new electric car

parts plant in Michigan.

--Consumer confidence advanced last week to a new 16 year high.

--A Washington Times editorial on the border wall indicates that radical

environmental groups have joined efforts to stop the project due to the alleged

impact it will have on ocelots and butterflies.

--America will not abandon Afghanistan to ISIS according to President Trump.

--Arizona Senator John McCain commends the president for his strategy on

Afghanistan.

--The Atlantic and the New York Post in favor of President Trump's Afghanistan

plans.

--Maria Chappelle-Nadal, a Missouri senator who had hoped for the president's

assassination, has been removed from her committee assignments.

--Fox News reports that calls are coming out for Chappell-Nadal to be

expelled from her position.

--A group of Anti-Trump demonstrators used gas canisters, rocks and bottles to

assault police Tuesday evening and create havoc at what had been a mostly

peaceful protest in Phoenix.

--The 'left' has upped the stakes in its guerilla operations against Republicans,

as deep-pocketed groups fund protestors to show up at the offices and even the

homes of congressman to protest their lack of town-hall meetings.

--A chief of staff for Democratic Representative Yvette Clarke quietly agreed

early last year to sign away a $120,000 missing electronics problem on behalf of

two former I.T. aides that are now suspected of stealing equipment from

Congress.
