Product Description

Tom DeWeese is the president of American Policy Center. Tom is one of the nation's leading advocates of individual liberty, free enterprise, private property rights, personal privacy, back-to-basics education and American sovereignty and independence and protecting our constitutionally guaranteed rights.

Agenda 21 was introduced to the world in 1992 at the Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro. It was the culmination of about 2 decades of U.N. and non-governmental organization involvement whose goal was to create '...a comprehensive blueprint for reorganizing human society'.

Tom took listeners back to 1946 when there was a U.N. resolution that sought to set standards for housing and town planning. Fast forward to 1976 in Vancouver. The U.N. held a habitat conference with a preamble that communicated that private ownership is also a principle instrument of accumulation and concentration of wealth therefore it contributes to social injustice. In other words: No private property allowed.

Tom went on to note how climate concerns began in the '70's as the ice age scare. That was followed by global warming which has now morphed into climate change. He believes there is no science to this. The consensus is made up of only about 700 people, some of whom are not even scientists. It's literally a euphemism for government control.

Local farms are coming under assault. This is in preference to large industrial farms that have the income and manpower to lobby Congress to get what they want. So slowly but surely, regulations are being applied to local farmers that make it harder for them to make a living resulting in their demise.

In 1987 the Brudtland Commission released a report indicating we had worldwide poverty. Through sustainable development they decided that the wealth of industrial nations should be transferred to poorer nations. Tom believes this is why we're seeing corporations moving their facilities to third-world nations. This is what formed the 'rust-belt', the area where American industry was destroyed.

So is free-market capitalism the problem? Tom described socialism as the problem as this is what the U.N. is pushing on us. He agreed that our government was set up to protect business but wasn't to be in partnership with them. That is out of the Mussolini/Fascist playbook. The result is that it's almost impossible to start a local business because you're crushed by massive corporations. In fact, he feels the day is coming when we may see 10 or 20 corporations in the world that control everything.

The move is also about destroying private property rights in America under new regulations coming out of H.U.D. These rules destroy the incentive to save and buy a home. That's viewed as a social injustice because you've segregated yourself through white privilege.

How has 'green' energy been doing in providing jobs? According to Tom, the green energy companies have been totally subsidized by the federal government. The result? These companies have been going out of business with the federal government losing massive amounts of money.

As this Crosstalk moves along, Jim has Tom comment on wind/solar farms, the local community grant trap, language realtors can no longer use when selling a home, the opinions of Crosstalk listeners and more.
