Jay Seegert is the co-founder and principle lecturer for the Creation Education Center which was established to 2007 to address the challenge from the secular world regarding the validity and accuracy of the Bible, especially the creation account as presented in the book of Genesis.
The Clergy Letter Project had, in recent years, promoted an effort close to Charles Darwin’s birthday known as “Evolution Sunday.” This year the name has been changed to “Evolution Weekend.”
Close to 600 churches from 13 different countries will be celebrating Evolution Weekend. As part of this celebration, nearly 13,000 pastors have signed on to a document denouncing the literal 6 day Genesis creation account. As part of this Crosstalk, Jim read the letter that some pastors are signing and Jay explained some of the weaknesses of evolution which included exposing two fallacious statements often touted by evolution proponents:
--Evolution, as a core component of human knowledge, is sound science.
--When a person believes that God created the universe in 6 literal days, they are rejecting science.
The second guest was Bob Sorenson, a Crosstalk listener from New York who, as a result of Evolution Sunday, started a grassroots movement called “The Question Evolution Project” and “Question Evolution Day.”
