Rob Pue is the editor of Wisconsin Christian News based in Marshfield, Wisconsin. Wisconsin Christian News has circulation throughout the state. Rob is also a speaker on the weekly radio program, “From the Editor's Desk” in which he comments on news, world conditions and society from a Christian perspective. He is also the main organizer behind this Saturday's Christian Ministry Expo being held just south of Wausau, WI.
Dennis Siler will be a speaker at one of the seminars this weekend at the expo. He is a camp director, father, grandfather, foster parent trainer and has raised multiple generations of God honoring young people.
Originally the Christian Ministry Expo took place in churches but Rob said that being at a mall allows the expo to have a good Christian presence in a public place. While the expo does promote the participating ministries, there's also a larger purpose. Due to the fact that families are pulled in many different directions Rob and Dennis felt led to incorporate things that would turn the hearts of people back toward the family, hence this year's theme of “Restoring the Family”.
Dennis noted that whether it's in the foster system, camp ministry or the local church, some families need a little help, others need a lot, while others are ready to give up. That's why his presentation at the expo is called, “Good Parenting is Needed Today”.
Dennis' will also have breakout sessions, one of which will focus on the “Four Keys of Training our Children”. Those keys are: self control, godly wisdom, responsibility and serving others.
Other speakers in attendance include Mike Prom of Headwaters Christian Youth in Rhinelander, Julaine Appling of Wisconsin Family Council, Pastor Terry Fischer of Milwaukee, there will be concerts, Bible quizzing, a prayer booth, a creation display, exhibits from about 50 different ministries, performances from family music ministries and more.
The Christian Ministry Expo will take place this Saturday from 9am to 5pm at the Cedar Creek Mall in Rothschild, WI. To get there, take Exit 185 off I-39. Admission is free. For more information call 715-486-8066 or go to www.wisconsinchristiannews.com
