Product Description

Are you aware that the so-called transgender population is estimated to be between two and three-tenths of one percent of our total population?  In spite of this, the battle for special rights for those calling themselves transgender is taking the nation by storm.  LGBT activist groups are bullying private businesses, schools, as well as units of government to force their extremist agenda down the throats of American citizens.

Joining Jim to discuss this issue was Randy Thomasson.  Randy is a veteran pro-family leader and president of SaveCalifornia.com.  Their organization stands strong for moral virtues for the common good.

This Crosstalk began by looking at AB-1732. This is a piece of legislation in the California legislature that would mandate that the restroom signs and symbols that say 'men' and 'women' or 'boys' and 'girls' must come down at businesses and places of public accommodation.  This includes church schools, Christian colleges, religious businesses, home-based businesses or anyplace where there's a single user restroom.  This means that if passed, even California residents with at-home businesses would be required to install a transsexual, all-gender symbol on their bathroom door.

The bill is written in such a way that it motivates a business that is just starting or moving, to go from offering 2 restrooms to offering only one all-gender restroom in order to save money.  In other words, this legislation won't expand access, it may actually limit it.

Randy noted that the bill was skipped over once again by the California Assembly.  They don't have the votes yet to pass it.  Randy believes there are a dozen or more Democrats who are reluctant to vote for this radical, transgender legislation because they know it isn't about rights for an individual; it's about burdening other individuals, businesses and religious freedom.

The key here is the idea of 'places of public accommodation'.  While this is only mentioned in the California bill, it is specifically defined under federal law under the Americans with Disabilities Act from 1990.  This means that wherever there is a private entity that affects commerce (Churches provide communities with a wide variety of social services that come under the rubric of 'commerce'.), it means they can be a place of public accommodation.  Specifically listed in the Americans with Disabilities Act are nurseries and educational institutions which means that churches and church-schools will also be affected should AB-1732 pass in California.  There is no religious exemption in this bill.

Randy urged listeners from all over the nation to call legislators in California (phone numbers are posted on the website listed below).  Jim included headlines that prove the unsafe nature of this legislative movement, an audio clip from a representative of the NCAA that shows how this agenda is expanding, some national businesses that are allowing people to use the restroom of the gender they identify with as well as calls from Crosstalk listeners.
