William F. Jasper is an investigative reporter and senior editor at The New American Magazine.  He's an author, journalist and commentator.  For more than three decades he served as an accredited correspondent at the United Nations in New York and U.N. summits around the world.

From 1904-1914 the U.S. built the Panama Canal.  Today, it's once again at the forefront of geopolitical discussions as President Trump believes that giving away the canal was a bad idea.
