As you listen to Crosstalk, you can see we are living in perilous times. We re are in a spiritual battle and especially during this time in which we're living, it's critical that people put their faith and trust in Jesus Christ as Savior.
In addition, there's the urgency for believers to be salt and light and to make a lasting spiritual impact on the lives of others we come into contact with. Rich Christiano is a film writer, director, and producer. In 2002, he along with his brother Dave, formed Five & Two pictures, reminiscent of the lad who shared 5 loaves and two fish. Rich is responsible for multiple films such as Time Changer, Unidentified, The Secrets of Jonathan Sperry, A Matter of Faith, Play the Flute, and Mind Reader.
The Secrets of Jonathan Sperry is about a 75 year old man in 1970 (played by Gavin MacLeod). He begins having Bible studies with three, 12 year old boys to motivate them to start reading the Bible and follow the Lord.
Play the Flute is about a youth director who takes over an indifferent youth group. The main character (Brandon Cobb played by Brett Varvel) doesn't back off his convictions as he attempts to try to motivate them to read the Bible and get serious about Christ.
This edition of Crosstalk doesn't look at these two films from a mere entertainment perspective. Instead, Jim and Rich examine several audio clips from these films and comment on things such as:
