High in the Swiss Alps, little Danny disappears. When he is found---alive, but seriously injured---his sister, Annette, vows revenge. Lucien, who caused the accident, finds himself an outcast with his family, school friends, and especially the very hostile Annette from the neighboring farm.  He escapes to the forest where he is taken in by a godly old woodcarver who encourages him, and he begins to have hope.
