At this VCY Rally, which took place during Black History Month in 2003, William Federer tells the stories of a number of black Americans of the past and the present, including Harriett Tubman, Booker T. Washington, Sojourner Truth, George Washington Carver, J.C. Watts, Clarence Thomas, and others.  Also included is a brief history of slavery in the United States, including efforts to abolish it even in colonial days.
